Best Plant-Milk Makers (2026): Fresh Soy, Oat and Nut Milk at Home

By Captain Vegan · Updated November 2, 2026 · 3 milk makers compared

Store-bought plant milk comes in a carton, costs like a small luxury, and sometimes has an ingredient list longer than a terms-of-service agreement. A milk maker turns a handful of nuts, oats, or soybeans into fresh milk in minutes, with exactly the ingredients you put in. Nothing else sneaks in.

Why No Nutr?

The Nutr beat the Almond Cow in Reviewed’s 2023 head-to-head. But as of November 2026 its main website no longer loads and its help desk page says it’s closed, so we can’t vouch for support or repairs. If that changes, we’ll take another look.

Almond Cow Milk Machine

Toss in nuts, oats, or seeds, add water, press go. About a minute later you have up to 1.5 liters (5 to 6 cups) of fresh milk and a machine looking very pleased with itself. In Reviewed’s head-to-head test it was the fastest, the quietest, and made the biggest batches, and Taste of Home had milk ready in under a minute. No heating, no drama, one-year warranty.

  • up to 1.5 L per batch
  • about 1 minute
  • no heating
  • 1-year warranty

Good to know: oat milk needed a four-hour soak in Reviewed’s test, coconut milk came out watery, and cleanup is all by hand: no self-clean, not dishwasher-safe.

Captain’s verdictThe pick for households that go through plant milk like it’s a competitive sport.

ChefWave Milkmade (CW-NMM)
Most hands-off

ChefWave Milkmade (CW-NMM)

The robot butler of milk makers. 1,000 watts, six programs (almond, soy, oat, cashew, macadamia, coconut), no soaking, and an auto-clean cycle that does the dishes so you don’t have to. Pick a 10- or 20-ounce batch and walk away; a 20-ounce soy batch took about 16 minutes in Reviewed’s test.

  • 1,000 W
  • 6 programs
  • 10- or 20-oz batches
  • no soaking
  • auto-clean
  • 1-year warranty

Good to know: Reviewed found the milk grainier than store-bought nut milk, so keep a strainer handy. Small batches only.

Captain’s verdictFor people who want fresh milk and zero scrubbing, and don’t mind a quick strain.

Best for soy milk

Tribest Soyabella (SB-130)

The budget route to the one homemade milk with real protein. A raw mode makes nut milk in about 30 seconds; a hot mode cooks soy milk in about 15 minutes, which matters because soybeans need cooking. 1.3-liter stainless carafe, two-year warranty, and it grinds coffee and spices on the side, because apparently it got bored.

  • 200 W
  • 1.3 L stainless carafe
  • raw (30 sec) & hot (15 min) modes
  • 2-year warranty

Good to know: it’s the least lab-tested of the three. A hands-on review found it easy to use, but the beans need soaking ahead and cleanup is a chore.

Captain’s verdictThe cheapest way to fresh soy milk that actually pulls its weight in protein.

Make It a High-Protein Milk

Blend a scoop of unflavored or vanilla powder into a fresh batch and you have a protein milk that beats most cartons. A neutral powder like Naked Pea disappears; Orgain vanilla turns it into dessert. See the top 10 vegan protein powders, and pair your milk with a blender that won’t leave gravel.
